WHAT IS HAPPENING?

  • 2.1 billion people in the world do not access to reliable water resources.
  • 3 out of 10 people do not have clean water in their homes.
  • Every year, 502 thousand deaths occur due to the use of contaminated water, and 361 thousand of these deaths comprises of the children under 5 years old.
  • 263 million people in the world have to walk at least 30 minutes to reach clean water resources.

WHAT DO WE DO?

"Physicians Across Continents" has been implementing clean water access projects in various countries since 2013, including Chad, Kenya, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Niger, Somalia, Afghanistan, Cameroon, and Benin. To date, a total of 736 water wells have been drilled in 17 countries, providing clean water access to 438,217 people. We continue our clean water access projects, prioritizing countries with significant needs.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Millions of people in the world lose their health through lack of access to clean water, and they even lose their life. You can afford a water-well cost or you can make smaller donations to support a joint water well project.
