As of 2023, approximately 4.6 billion people worldwide lacked full access to essential health services, while 239 million people needed humanitarian assistance and protection. As disasters, economic inequalities, and conflicts exacerbate weaknesses in healthcare infrastructure, vulnerable communities face increasing barriers to accessing essential health services. This situation contributes to higher maternal and infant mortality rates, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, makes disease outbreaks more difficult to control, and increases risks to public health.

Supporting healthcare services goes beyond treating diseases. Ensuring the continued availability of qualified healthcare professionals, medicines, medical supplies, and essential equipment is vital to delivering uninterrupted and consistent healthcare to those in need.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

At Yeryüzü Doktorları, we work in regions where access to healthcare is limited, helping people in need access essential health services. We reach vulnerable communities through the permanent healthcare centres we have established in the countries where we operate, as well as through mobile health services and volunteer medical teams. We help meet healthcare needs by providing medical consultations, treatment, surgical procedures, medicines, and medical supplies.

Through our work in primary healthcare, maternal and child health, nutrition, and various medical specialties, we reach people in need. We also help strengthen local healthcare systems by providing hospitals with training, medical equipment, and medicines.
