WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Syrian Crisis, having started in March in 2011, has still been continuing. According to UNCHR report in 2016, more than 250 million Syrian died during this period. 6 million 200 thousands of people have been forced to migrate, and 5 million 600 thousands of people are in dire need of urgent humanitarian aid, 12 million 800 thousands of people needs instant medical assistance.

The current events and devastation in the region have imprisoned people to live under very difficult conditions. Having been forced to leave their places by either internal or external migrations, hundreds of thousands people struggles even to meet their basic needs.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Since the very first day of the crisis, Yeryüzü Doktorları has been providing health services to people affected with the support of donors and volunteers. Within the scope of these aid activities, firstly, in the Wadi Khaled region on the Syrian-Lebanese border, a Triage Centre has been founded. Volunteer Medical Teams have been sent to Tripoli. A blood bank and a laboratory have been established in Darul Shifa Hospital, which provides free services to Syrian refugees in Lebanon. By opening a pharmaceutical warehouse in Syria, some medicine, medical equipment and medical supplies consisting of first aid kits and surgical bags have been delivered. With the impact of the crisis on the Turkish borders, the efforts have been intensified in regions where the refugee camps are located in Turkey. In this context, primary healthcare and psychological support services have been provided for Syrian refugees.

As of 2018, we have been providing services by opening clinics in Azez and Afrin, where internal migration and population have increased but healthcare services have not been sufficient.
